THE CODEX

A collection of things I'm building, things I'm learning, things that refuse to work, and questions I haven't figured out yet.

code is just another way of asking "what happens if I try this?"

PROJECT 01 · ACTIVE

Roy's Universe

My personal digital universe. I'm building this website as a mixture of portfolio, laboratory, observatory, and creative space.

It isn't supposed to feel like a normal portfolio. I want it to feel like entering somewhere that belongs to me.

PROJECT 02 · PLANNED

Computational Physics Lab

A future collection of programs and simulations exploring mechanics, astronomy, mathematics and physical systems.

I want to eventually be able to take an equation and turn it into something I can actually watch happen.

PROJECT 03 · ONGOING

Small Experiments

Little programs, visual experiments, strange ideas and things I make simply because I want to know whether I can.

Some become projects. Most become lessons. A few become both.

Experiments Algorithms Visualisation

Things I'm learning.

I'm collecting the tools I need to eventually build the things I actually want to explore.

Some are completely new. Some I'm still trying to understand.

01

Python

Building the foundation for scientific programming and computational work.

02

Scientific Computing

Turning mathematical ideas into programs that can actually explore them.

03

Numerical Methods

Learning how computers approach problems that don't have easy analytical solutions.

04

Data Visualisation

Making numbers and equations easier to actually see.

05

JavaScript

Building interactive things for the web and understanding how the pieces work together.

06

Computational Physics

Eventually bringing all of this together to explore actual physics.

Things I haven't figured out yet.

These are probably more important than the things I already know.

Why does a system behave the way it does? Can I simulate it? Can I visualise it? Can I build something that lets me understand the mathematics rather than simply calculate it?

unfinished doesn't mean uninteresting.

An unanswered programming question
07 / still thinking about this one

Code is another way of thinking.

I don't want programming to be just another skill on a list.

I want to use it as a tool for curiosity — something that lets me test ideas, build experiments, visualise mathematics and explore questions that don't have simple answers.

In the end, it's just another language to learn and master.
